As always inspiration comes from the most unexpected;or as I should say always new; places. Recently I had the great opportunity to discover another beautiful, and yet controversial for his times, art by John Singer Sarget(1856-1925).
After receiving a beautiful postcard with the portrait of Lady Agnew of Lochnaw (c.1893 oil on canvas 127 x 101 cm, at Scottish National Gallery) I researched more and I found , among plenty of various portraits, one of the most famous paintings by Sarget: Portrait of Madame X. I decided to dedicate my free interpretation of it to the friend who inspired me to make it for him. I wish him today a Happy Birthday !
